Marxist Fundamentals Study Group

This is our long-running study group which introduces Marxism in more depth than the short, 6-week introductory course. In general, this course is meant for new members to deepen their understanding of Marxist politics, but it is open to anyone who is interested.

We read the following books as part of this course:

  • The Meaning of Marxism by Paul D’Amato

  • Manifesto of the Communist Party by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels

  • Reform or Revolution? by Rosa Luxemburg

  • The State and Revolution by V.I. Lenin

  • A People’s Guide to Capitalism by Hadas Thier

  • Socialism: Utopian and Scientific by Friedrich Engels

  • Fascism: What it is and how to fight it by Leon Trotsky

  • Imperialism: The Highest Stage of Capitalism by V.I. Lenin

  • Value, Price and Profit/Wage Labor and Capital by Karl Marx

  • What is the real Marxist tradition? by John Molyneux

This meeting is held at bit.ly/srszoomlink. If you want to get connected and know the reading ahead of time, use our contact form to get in touch. However, feel free to drop in and get connected even if you haven’t had a chance to do the reading!
