Border and Rule, Ch. 6

Join us for a lively discussion of chapter 6 of Border and Rule by Harsha Walia!

With the ongoing attacks on immigrants, documented and undocumented, it is more critical than ever for activists to have a clear understanding of how borders work, what purpose they serve for the billionaires who rule the world, and most crucially, how they might be undone.

Border and Rule is available from Haymarket books: https://www.haymarketbooks.org/books/1553-border-and-rule. At the time of writing, the e-book is being given out for free.

This meeting will be both in-person at Christ Episcopal Church (4548 Brooklyn Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98105), and online at bit.ly/srszoomlink.

Where is Mexico heading politically? What are the political options like for the working class in Mexico? Join us for a lively discussion of these questions and many more.

Marxist dialectics for people fighting capitalism

Marxist dialectics for people fighting capitalism

Dialectics sounds obscure and irrelevant but Marx and Engels insisted that it was central to transforming society. What is Dialectics? How Does understanding Dialectics influence our strategies and tactics? Why does Dialectics underscore revolutionary politics as opposed to reformism? Why is it that those who abandon Dialectics usually abandon revolutionary politics? How can Dialectics be misused to support ineffective politics?

Join Seattle Revolutionary Socialists for a discussion on this important cornerstone of Marxism.

Discussion will be held on zoom at bit.ly/srszoomlink and at the same time in person at Christ Episcopal Church at 47th and Brooklyn N.E. in the University District.

On the need for a labor party

On the need for a labor party

"The bosses have two parties, workers need one!", so goes a common radical slogan. The Republicans are obvious enemies of ordinary people. The Democrats pretend to be friends but constantly stab workers in the back as they fund genocide. It is obvious that workers need a party that fights for their interests. But what kind of a party?

The Labor Party in Britain and other countries rapidly got coopted to serve the capitalists. How do we prevent that? Should socialists try to initiate a Labor Party in the U.S.? How do we make sure it fights for workers and against the bosses? Join us to discuss this important question!

This meeting will be both in-person at Christ Episcopal Church (4548 Brooklyn Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98105), and online at bit.ly/srszoomlink.
